We believe in transparency. Below are the claims we make about Ava’s products and the corresponding disclosures that help you understand how our data is measured and what it means for you.

Credit Score Improvement Claims

Claim: 74% of Ava members see a credit score improvement in less than 7 days.

Disclosure: Data is for the period Jan 1, 2023 – Dec 31, 2023 (VantageScore 3.0). This describes the average outcome for members who subscribed to Ava, activated the Ava Card, and were furnished to the bureaus within 7 days, and did not cancel within 7 days of signing up.

A credit score increase is not guaranteed.

Claim: Ava members see an average of 30-point score increase within 30 days.

Disclosure: Based on data from Mar 1, 2024 – Feb 28, 2025, this reflects the average credit score outcome for members with a starting score below 580 who activated the Ava Card and had no new delinquencies on other tradelines in the first 30 days.

Money Back Guarantee

Claim: Money Back Guarantee

Disclosure: If you don’t see Ava on your credit report within 30 days of joining, we’ll refund your membership fee as long as your account remains active for at least 7 days from your membership date. To request a refund, please email support@meetava.com with your account details, and we’ll review and process your request if you qualify under the terms above.

Interest & Fees

Claim: Zero Interest. Origination Fee applies.

Disclosure: Ava’s Save & Build Credit secured loan origination fee is $36, paid as $1.50 per month.

Reporting to Credit Bureaus

Claim: We report to 3 major credit bureaus fast.

Disclosure: Ava reports your payment activity and tradelines (“Activity”) to all 3 credit bureaus but does not promise or guarantee specific results. Credit bureaus independently determine scores and may process data differently. Ava cannot guarantee bureau processing times or specific score outcomes.

Your credit score may be impacted positively or negatively.

Claim: Our Ava Credit Builder Card and Save & Build Credit Account impact 90% of your credit score factors.

Disclosure: Ava adds two new tradelines to your credit report — helping with credit mix (10%) and credit history (15%). Making payments on time supports payment history (35%), and your Credit Builder Card limit helps manage credit utilization (30%).

Claim: Make sure you have $100 minimum in your linked checking account to avoid an overdraft.

Disclosure: Your linked bank account must have the greater of $100 or 150% of your balance for your payment to process. Insufficient funds may result in failed payments and potential negative reports to credit bureaus.

Claim: We never report missed rent — only positive rent payments are reported.

Disclosure: Ava reports rent and/or utility payment activity to TransUnion only. Ava does not guarantee specific results, as bureaus determine credit scores based on many factors.

A credit score increase is not guaranteed.

Claim: We report your credit activity to all major bureaus on a consistent monthly schedule.

Disclosure: Ava reports credit card accounts 6 days after opening and monthly thereafter on the same date. Loan accounts are reported 3 days after opening, then monthly on the same date.
